Okay so I just went through another 100 SAT vocab words in addition to the hundred I did yesterday. I have 200 more to go…but that’s for tomorrow. Here are the ones I particularly like (because they sound cool mostly):

1. anomaly- a deviation from the norm

2. recalcitrant- stubborn

3. clandestine- secretive

4. anachronism- not in the proper time period

5. platitudinous- commonplace (LOL really, such an unnecessarily long word for such a simple meaning)

6. ubiquitous- widespread

7. mercurial- fickle; constantly changing moods

8. bucolic- charmingly rural (sounds like brolic + a type of bacteria)

9. sycophant- a servile person

10. chimerical- a fantastic scheme; unchecked imagination

11. maudlin- excessively sentimental (I like this one because of the word origin…comes from Mary of Magdalene who wept for Jesus)

12. quixotic- foolishly impractical (also like the origin…Don Quixote :D)

13. picayune- something small and trifling

14. zenith- highest point

15. mellifluous- smooth and sweet-flowing

16. acrimonious- caustic, bitter
